Prasad Research Foundation has one of the most celebrated gynaecology and orthopaedic wings in the country. The large pool of donated Umbilical Cord and cord blood by a diverse pool of patients ensures that there is constant supply of the source.
The foundation develops Hematopoietic Stem Cells and Mesenchymal Stromal Cells from the Umbilical Cord and umbilical cord. With research and culturing expertise spanning close to two decades, the team at Prasad research foundation has been running pilot studies, model trials in different conditions using allogeneic stem cells from Umbilical Cord.

Procurement Process

 Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation
  • The Umbilical Cord is donated by different patients for the fields of research.
  • The public cord blood bank ensures that all the safety, infection procedures are followed in sourcing the Umbilical Cord.
  • Informed consent form signed by the donor to ensure no legal issues.
  • The Umbilical Cord is run through a series of tests on quality tests before it reaches the lab for culturing.

Culturing Process

Stem Cell Research Center in India
  • The Umbilical Cord is cultured in a GMP standard lab by scientists and expert lab team.
  • The culturing goes through an inhouse developed protocol.
  • Once processed, a random sample is sent to different institutes for testing and certification.
  • The cells are also quality tested in house and stored in house in the with strict protocols in a cryogenic facility at the hospital.

  • MSC and HSC culturing
  • Clinical grade cells which can be used for research or approved clinical use
  • Procedure and the culturing process by physicians and scientists in collaboration
  • Over 100 years of combined experience in the field of stem cell research
  • GMP standard lab facility
